The Collection

*The Collection has been updated for 2025 with a whole new game: The House That Hell Built.*

The Collection contains an anthology of three games (and more to come) all focused on urban legends and folklore around the Eastern United States and using parts of my whimsigoth game system. It uses a mix of playing cards and tarot cards to capture the shift from an every day adventure into something weirder and more deeply dangerous. 

These were written as part of the Folklore Jam 2024 and 2025.

The first is Squonk's Okay Day, a card based ttrpg focused on the sad, embarrassed cryptid known for dissolving into a puddle of their own tears if cornered, the Squonk. Play as organizers of Squonkapalooza, a real actual festival celebrating all things Squonk, trying to fend off a mysterious saboteur determined to ruin Squonk's big day. Use a mixture of playing cards and tarot cards as you delve into the secrets of the world and attempt to turn that squonky frown upside-down. 

The second game is Cold Mist Road, a two player game about two people on a haunted road trying desperately to get the other to join them where they are. The trouble is your companion may not be as invested in your welfare as you think. One--or both--of you might be a vengeful spirit out for blood or a deadly witch seeking blood. Manipulate and persuade your partner into joining you, never sure until the very end if they're even who they say they are.

Thirdly, is the newest game: The House That Hell Built. A gmless murderous time loop game, you play as tenants in company housing rumored to be the site of decapitations, murders, and worse. Unfortunately, these rumors hold deadly merit and Hell is coming to claim back its home. The only thing you have on your side is time. Relive the night until you get it right, again, and again, and again.
